Real Estate Tip of the Week: Instagram Goals

Social media can seem overwhelming and intimidating – and if you’re a real estate agent, then you probably have to manage a myriad of social media apps.

But this is where we come in! Here is your reminder that social media is supposed to be fun and engaging, and we’re here with just a few tips and advice on how to manage your social media apps! Specifically, your Instagram account.

Set Your Audience

What is your purpose on Instagram – as in, who is your audience? Are you wanting to reach first-home buyers, retired couples, etc.?

Understanding who you’re trying to reach will help you create a clear line of what you should be posting. This will help you stay on track.

Research Hashtags

Hashtags are important! Don’t shrug them off as useless little words at the end of a caption. Hashtags help organize and categorize content, which means your posts go to the people who are searching for it.

Where your place your hashtags is equally as important. If you put them within your caption, stick to around 1-3 hashtags only. If you place your hashtags in the first comment, you can add more – up to 30, actually, but you should stay around 10 to 11. No one likes to be bombarded.

Schedule Your Posts

According to Hootsuite, it’s recommended that you post to your Instagram feed 2-3 times per week, but no more than once per day. With Stories, think about posting twice a day.

Plan out what days/times you plan on posting during the week, and stick to it! The more reliable you are on posting, the better your insights and followers will be.

Social media, when armed with strategy, will be easy for you to master! Don’t let social media frighten you – check out more of our social media tips, here.
